Selling Your Home

With the current shortage of houses in the Atlanta area, now is an excellent time to put your house on the market. Take a look at the chart below to see results for the past year.

The chart below shows the length of time properties went under contract in the counties of Gwinnett, Barrow, Hall and Jackson compared to the metro Atlanta average (in blue).

What if you owe more than what your house is worth?  You may be able to sell your home as a short sale.  A short sale is when your lender agrees to accept less money on your home than what you owe.  It is far better for you to sell your home as a short sale than to let it go into foreclosure.  Plus, your home would be sold "as is" so no repairs to the home by you would be necessary.  The process can take a few months before your lender approves the sale (depends on the lender and how responsive you are to their requests for information).
